Local Entrepreneur Partners with ABAX Founders

James Taylor, a local entrepreneur in the contracting industry, has partnered with ABAX founder Roy Hogstad to launch a new venture in Peterborough.

A New Venture Rooted in Peterborough’s Strengths

This new venture, built upon Taylor’s job management software startup, represents a significant step forward in simplifying document processes for contractors. Being a contractor himself, Taylor designed the software to tackle the common pains he and other contractors face daily.

“Most similar software targets enterprises and larger businesses,” said Taylor. “My focus has always been on small to medium-sized businesses, which I can personally relate to.” The rebranding signals a fresh beginning and a renewed focus on helping these businesses improve efficiency and transition away from paper-based methods.

“We’ve always loved being in Peterborough,” added Roy Hogstad, Chairman. “The morale and dedication of the local workforce stood out to us when we set up ABAX in 2011, and it’s one of the reasons we’re so excited to be back. We found fantastic local partners then, and with a mix of new talent, former colleagues, and James Taylor, we’re looking forward to spending more time in Peterborough and making this new venture a success.”

New Office at The Allia Business Centre: A Hub for Startups

The company has opened a new office at The Allia Business Centre in Peterborough, which will serve as its headquarters. “The Allia is a perfect place for us as a startup,” said Hogstad. “We also enjoy being near the Posh and remember the fantastic partnership we had a few years back through ABAX. When reaching our targets, we very much see partnering up with the Posh again as something we would like to do.”

Growing the Team and Supporting Local Talent

As part of the expansion, the company has welcomed four new employees from the local area, filling key roles in sales and marketing. This growth is just the beginning, as the company aims to build a team passionate about transforming how contractors manage their day-to-day operations.

“We’re building a team that’s driven to make a real impact,” said Piers Barron, CEO. “With our new hires and the new office, we are ready to yet again create many new jobs in Peterborough, and further strengthen the city's reputation as a smart location for a tech startup.”

With the University of Peterborough located just around the corner, PaperDrop is excited to tap into the local talent pool. The company is looking to offer opportunities for new professionals to grow their careers while staying within the local community.
